A couple of games I think are underrated:
Prince of Persia: Warrior Within - all you have to do is turn the volume down and it's just as good as the others.
Second Sight - This game is great fun, and it has a fantastic story.
I've made it to the final boss, but still cannot get past it. I come back to it from time to time.
For the record, I think this game is one of the best I've ever played. It's brutally hard, but fair in that the traps never change. It's old school in the best way.
I still don't get all the hate for Prince of Persia: Warrior Within. I mean sure, the metal music/emo guy hero is lame, but the game itself is every bit as fantastic as its predecessor.
I replay Dawn of War every couple of months. I just can't get enough of it. I can't wait to get a decent computer so I can run DoW 2 with decent settings.
Starcraft is also quite fun. It may be dated, but you've got to respect the architects.
My first gut reaction is '6', for the characters, the score, and the combat system. Then again, what I really loved about '7' was that it's the only one that drops you right into the thick of things.
...and I loved the world in '9', and the story in '10'. Gah!

That being said, we should all be careful who we mock. Hipsters walk among us.
How many times have you read this: "Yeah, I was totally into Zero Punctuation before it got all famous."
I found it to be incredibly moving. Granted, you need to dig a little bit to find meaning in it, but what's wrong with that?
I was trying to describe it to a friend, and the best I could come up with was 'a cross between Super Mario Bros and Mulholland Drive'.
A couple that come to mind:
Getting the jacked-up Gravity Gun in Half Life 2
The final act of Super Metroid...actually that whole game is pure satisfaction.
