ME3 End: Do you agree with the Reapers?

This assumes that all synthetics, will eventually try to destroy organics. Why would you imagine all AIs would develop in exactly the same way? Just as with organics there are millions of factors determining how a conciousness will develop, preferences, prejudices and values all are...

Mass Effect 3 Is a Good Game.

For me the ending is the most important part, it doesn't necessarily have to be the most amazing part, but it is the most important part to not mess up. It's the last thing you're left with, and hopefully gives you closure, it colours everything you ever felt while playing the game. A good...

Very Long Analysis of ME3 Ending, aka why the ending is great (spoilers)

I absolutely agree with 'chinangel', in that sacrifice is a choice and you certainly don't require the death of your main character to make an ending poignant. Though I'm not too concerned about Shepard living, I would have preferred it, but it's a preference and I understand the people who...

Games you like that critics hate

I loved Alpha Protocol, I guess I'm just very forgiving when it comes to buggy AI if I'm given an interesting conversation mechanic. Seriously Obsidian outdid everyone with how well the did the conversations. Actually meaningful effect from how you talk to someone. Absolutely brilliant. If...

Bioware allows the release of "The Final Hours of Mass Effect 3" a tell all app for $2.99 WTF?!

There are holes, but frankly I think any possibility that the ending we got essentially didn't exist, is great. If Bioware ran with what is essentially 'it was all a dream', I would still be annoyed, but I could at least go away having enjoyed Mass Effect as a series again.

Bioware allows the release of "The Final Hours of Mass Effect 3" a tell all app for $2.99 WTF?!

I just do not understand...... Even Halo Reach, with it's 'who can have the most glorious/heroic death' approach to characters, gave more closure and had a better ending. Also I don't know why people seem to think massive amounts of speculation are good. If I want to have the maximum...

Mass Effect 3 Writer Allegedly Slams Controversial Ending

If this is real, it's great that he went out of his way to inform us at possible cost to himself. Personally I'd like to see more of this, Bioware would garner a lot more respect from me, by all the writers and everyone involved just telling us what on earth happened, without nonsense PR...

Why do you not believe the indoctrination theory? *Major Spoilers*

It would be fantastic for this to be the case, and if it is, it's an improvement regardless. But made less so by Bioware/EA withholding the true ending. If it had immediately proceeded the 'faux' ending, that would have been great and an elegant twist ending on the part of Bioware. The...

MovieBob's thoughts on the ME3 ending controversy

I agree absolutely. Where part of your art is to please a certain group of people; if the vast majority of people vehemently deride your work you art has failed, in it's most basic essence. As far as I was concerned Mass Effect was intended to entertain me first and then, make any...

MovieBob's thoughts on the ME3 ending controversy

I have no idea why, the onus is on the fans for setting the medium back a decade (if we assume this is the case). Bioware are perfectly entitled, (as a separate entity) to ignore the fan's vitriol and stick to their 'artistic' guns, everyone's already bought the game, and as far as I'm concerned...

This was awesome, really made me smile.

Say what you will, ME3 stands as a testament to the importance of story and character development

Definitely the inclusion of those nightmare scenes was crass and pointless. Though despite that they really dropped the ball when it came to character development that actually mattered, like that of your squadmates. I thought the rest of the characters were pretty well characterised. So I...

Say what you will, ME3 stands as a testament to the importance of story and character development

I definitely think there was plenty of emotional engagement, and that certainly fuelled most of my ire at the shoddy ending. It is definitely great that any game can spark this kind of feeling from so many people. Though for me, the emotional engagement preceded ME3, I felt pretty much no...
