Finally, a zombie game that shows just how somber and depressing the zombie apocalypse can be.
Most other games try to humor the killing of zombies, like Dead Rising, but one that actually makes you feel guilty about doing this?
THAT is a horror game worth playing.

Saw this trailer yesterday, enjoyed it a lot, the whole 'death of a child' thing really wasn't the focus for me, but more the way the trailer started with their deaths and ended with that look from the father to the daughter like they were actually going to make it out alive.

And just because I'm a terrible person: No you fool! You have to throw her out of the building again! Always remember the double tap.

That trailer guts me, I guess because I'm one of the few gamers out there that's still capable of empathy.

This one in particular because I've only been a father for a year.
I'm the same. I've got two daughters and it really tugged the heartstrings; especially how it starts off with the father in shocked disbelief as his own zombified daughter attacks him and finishes with him reaching down to save her. I think it captures the sheer desperation a parent would feel if a zombie attack really did happen.

Speaking of which, I kid you not, the electronic road sign they use to indicate road works the other day read "Zombies.. run!!!" Obviously they were bored.

I'm sorry, but no. No no no. Child death is never funny. Feel free to play the game if you want, but I, for one, will pass.
Who said it was supposed to be funny??

To be honest, I couldn't care less about the actual game, but the trailer is something else. Incredible graphics, fantastic idea.

And if you will excuse me, I need to get this clear liquid out of my eyes...
You spunked in your eyes too, huh?

OT: It is very good, I just hope they haven't pulled a Halo, and put more emotional depth in the trailers than you can get from the entire series.

Waiting 3 years, constently looking for something new on it, and something finally happend.....just didn't think it would be this. Still hyped abpot the multi-layer system thing that they were talking about (which might be sorta demonstrated with the axe thing(I know its not a gameplay trailer, just thinking))

I really enjoyed that trailer. One of the best cinematic video game trailers I've ever seen.

Depressing. Like "The Orphanage" depressing. Well made, but these things make me uncomfortable as a parent now. I wonder how I'd have felt 10 years ago.

That was an impressive trailer. While everything is getting a zombie adaptation, this looks like it could actually be pretty good, seeing as potential protagonist has already thrown his daughter out of a window.

I thought that this game was canceled years ago. Well, it's nice to see that it's actually getting made.

I dont see why people think this trailer is so amazing. Dont get me wrong, it is a good trailer, but not that good. It seems that because the little girl dies a horrible death its being stamped as an awesome trailer. Some people say it moved them in some way... I dont. Maybe i'm just emotionaly dead, I dont know, but I have seen better zombie trailers. i see the L4D2 trailer has been shown on this thread already, so I dont think there is any reason to re-post it. Maybe i'm just more action orriented when it comes to games, I dont know, but if I have learned something, it is to never trust a pure CG trailer. It may look and sound good, but I want to see some gameplay before I make up my mind

Really good trailer if it where for a movie ill run right to the theathers but games are measured whit a entirely different stick, it really reminded me of some old 90s brazilian comercials for safe driving, really grim stuff also in slow motion backwards, of kids and even babies going trough the windows of the cars (they where use your seatbelt commercials) i saw them in a lecture in one of my classes in college (im an advertising major) the commercials where super effective but most countries didnt have the stomach to pùt them on national tv

Implying only adult death is funny? Sorry but either all death can be funny or none. Not both.

This trailer pretty much blew my mind. Not that it told me anything, it was just ... in some intangible way, epic. Sounds L4D-ey according to some previews I've read (emphasis on co-op) so hopefully it's good. It's already on my rental list at the very least.

I'm assuming you don't have any kids. I wouldn't say you're emotionally dead; this trailer wouldn't have moved me either way before I became a father. I wasn't at all interested in holding babies either. Now it's a totally different story. I become an emotional wreck when it comes to kids and tragedy.

I'm hoping the game really hammers home the sensation of being underprepared, underarmed and totally frantic.

I thought it just looked boring. Zombies eat people, it isn't shocking to me when that is included in a trailer and killing a child doesn't automatically make it good. Also as someone else said pure CG trailers are VERY misleading, the game could be nothing like the trailer.

This is the best Zombie game trailer:

Yeah, it never really made sense to me in games like L4D(wich are really fun btw) where the main characters not only convieniently found stockpiled pain pills, helath packs, weapons and ammo every 30 minutes, all knew how to use firearms and had absolutely no guilt in mowing down people that were probably their former co-workers or friends. This may be different(e.g. Zombies are beating down your door and you need to find something in your room that might do some damage(like a coathanger or some cutlery))
