I dont see why people think this trailer is so amazing. Dont get me wrong, it is a good trailer, but not that good. It seems that because the little girl dies a horrible death its being stamped as an awesome trailer. Some people say it moved them in some way... I dont. Maybe i'm just emotionaly dead, I dont know, but I have seen better zombie trailers. i see the L4D2 trailer has been shown on this thread already, so I dont think there is any reason to re-post it. Maybe i'm just more action orriented when it comes to games, I dont know, but if I have learned something, it is to never trust a pure CG trailer. It may look and sound good, but I want to see some gameplay before I make up my mind
I'm assuming you don't have any kids. I wouldn't say you're emotionally dead; this trailer wouldn't have moved me either way before I became a father. I wasn't at all interested in holding babies either. Now it's a totally different story. I become an emotional wreck when it comes to kids and tragedy.

I'm hoping the game really hammers home the sensation of being underprepared, underarmed and totally frantic.
No, I dont have any kids, that would be a bit too early for me, i'm 18 years old, so i guess I would be too young for kids yet ;)

I agree with you when it comes to the gameplay with being underprepared and all that, I totally agree, 100%. We havent seen a zombie game like that yet have we?

Well, like books and movies, games are around to cross the boundary. Remember the scandal with Resident Evil and the blood it showed? Remember Manhunt and it's... it's everything? Remember GTA's Hot Coffee? Mass Effect's romance scenario?
Son, I remember back to Pacman promoting drug abuse. :)

Pushing boundaries is fine as long as there are boundaries to push. That's what art does.

[HEADING=2]But[/HEADING] some boundaries are there for a reason, and even if you want to push them, you have to understand that there are people who don't want them pushed, for whatever reason. And Society has to respect that.

From what I've seen so far, this is less of "Let's push the boundaries for realism" and more "Let's push the boundaries so we can show how EDGEY we are". And that turns my stomach.

If you want to play it, sure. Knock yourself out. But I'd rather that such a serious subject matter was dealt with as a mature point, not as a selling point.

Can we remember Sarah Palin's "crosshair"? Whether or not that was deliberate, it was still a damn stupid thing to do, given known tendencies to take the media literally.

or "Grand Theft Rochester" or "RapePlay"? If you want to push those particular boundaries, you've got to make DAMN sure that you're not just feeding the fire ready for the Michael Atkinsons, Jack Thompsons and Carole Liebermans of this world to say "I TOLD YOU SO!".

I had a friend who became a father at 15 so I try not to judge ;-)

I guess the trailer could show what sort of atmosphere and mood the game is going for, but overall it didn't spark my interest for the game. However, not viewed as a trailer this was an epic short film, very emotional.

This is the best Zombie game trailer:
I don't know if it's the best, but it's certainly very entertaining!
This new trailer is just... meh. And I'm not a fan of the backwards idea.

Can't wait till Cox News hears about this: "Dead Island, a game where players are encouraged to tear little girls apart as zombies. Points are awarded for the most gruesome ways to kill the child, and are given a combo chain for how much she can suffer before finally being killed in a gory fashion." How long do you think it will take for Fox to get a story like that out of the trailer?

I said it once and I will say it again, I found this trailer absolutely hilarious. Sure, not everything was funny but the second I saw the dancing flame zombie in the background and the magical healing axe I just laughed so hard at this trailer. The reverse is pretty much what killed the mood of it all.

I feel as if people think this is sad because sad music is playing over it. I just find it more out of tone and makes it satirical. For me at least.

Why is the girl running around in the hallways anyway? And then she goes and leads all the zombies to the parents...

That being said, good trailer.

Well personally I liked it when they got attacked because them being happy is some uncanny valley shit right there. Also I dunno about best zombie game trailer ever... I still prefer L4D2.
Kill all sons of bitches, that's my official instructions. Manlier words have never been spoken, except by maybe Duke Nukem.

With that said, holy SHIT that trailer was awesome. I actually found myself fighting back a few tears from the first one. However, I'm gonna wait for some gameplay footage to pop up before I make my final decision to buy it.

That was awesome! Man, that trailer is a trailer! Plus, I wouldn't mind seeing that first one and the second one tied together. I mean yeah, you already know what happens but it was just as powerful and also interesting to see it all played forward as well.

I don't know anything about this game, but if they can deliver the same emotional impact while playing, I DEFINITELY want it!

Without a doubt the trailer is just great.

The game? We'll see. I'm getting the feeling it's -way- too early to tell.

That...
That was heart-breaking.
You have done a good job, marketing department. Just because of this, I will buy this game.
