It looks interesting I suppose, and since my brother has demanded I obtain my own copy so we can do the Multiplayer I truly hope it's rather interesting, but the only thing about I'm actually truly curious about it is the last little snippet
Did they push back the Game? Only the Multiplayer?
I am rather confused, moreso by the fact that this hasn't been mentioned for 2 Pages now.

The EDI thing is rather odd as well though...
The release date is still March 9.

OT: Well, this thread has pretty much sold me on not buying ME3 until it hits the bargain bin. It's pretty clear from all the ads, trailers and leaks that they just shit all over what made the first game good to begin with. The second game started it and the third is going to finish it. It's suffering the same fate as Dragon Age. Much improved gameplay being treated as a fix for a vastly inferior story. It's fucking stupid, and it honestly makes me die a little inside whenever I see a company doing something like this.

The original Mass Effect was an amazing game, with one of the best sci-fi narratives yet told, in any medium. It suffered from some gameplay issues, but the story more than made up for it.

Mass Effect 2 was a decent game, with tighter and more focused gameplay/level design, but with a primary story that shit all over itself and failed on almost every narrative level. The only reason that game was bearable was because 85% of it was recruitment/loyalty missions, and those were generally pretty well told.

Mass Effect 3 seems to be keeping this trend, and, to all appearances, will have vastly improved gameplay with all sorts of nice tweaks to make it damn near perfect.... but with an utterly broken, stupid, and spectacle-focused narrative.

It's really fucking depressing to look at how the Mass Effect series has progressed.

This just makes me want ME3 more.
I'm going to have to, extremely grudgingly, allow Origin on my PC. *choking on my own bile*
Aye, same... I don't trust it for a second, unless someone can confirm that it is not in fact highly intrusive. Or any of the other things people have said about it.
The EA Origin Licensing Agreement is actually rather user-friendly. It lists in bold all the hot-button areas of controversy with their terms, and they've changed them to be more accessible overall.

I guess that if I were in your shoes, I'd read the bold areas of the licensing agreement. If you think the terms are reasonable, install it. if not, don't. Just know that the hysteria over Origin on the Escapist is just that. Hysteria.

Speaking as someone who's had Origin installed for almost 4 months now, I'd call the charge of its intrusiveness highly overblown. My computer has run exactly the same with it installed as not, and I've not gotten any new influx of spam that would denote EA selling my data to the highest bidder, as some of the crazier conspiracy theorists claim.

Say, Bioware, why don't you talk about what you've done to EDI, hmm?

See bioware. This is what happens when you listen to fan boy/girls on BSN( I would have at least thought people would have worked that out after dragon age 2 ). I swear right now that body is heading out an airlock along with the Turian council member and the IM.

On a more positive note I wonder if the races and radical abilities. The Salarian infiltrator seems like a cool one to make.

I'm actually quite looking forward to the MP now.

It doesn't look bad, and an intergalactic war is not something that can be won by just 1 guy and his party van.

It will be very interesting to see what "the other guys" are doing while Shephard is flying around mining minerals.

I really want to make a pic of Shepard and his gang in one of those "hippie vans", with the subtitle "Saving the universe, one joint at a time", but I'm terrible at art and photoshop.

Actually, if it had a storyline similar to the Meet the Team videos, hell yes I would like that.
Sure, and if I had a Ferrari in the driveway I could get to work in six minutes. ;)

You can tack anything on to anything, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it's going to add anything of value to the original. Mass Fortress 3 might be a blast, but does it really serve the series? I say no.
Actually, the multiplayer sounds like a great way to flesh out the universe, show some of the battles that aren't just happening on Shepard's end.

So Tricia Helfer resumes her typecasting as a robotic femme fatale. What's your point here?
My point is EDI was never a robotic femme fatale. Equating EDI to Maria from Metropolis is a bit like casting Megan Fox as Mother Teresa in an NC-17 biopic.

Hopefully by then I'll be able to figure out why Shepard's omni-blade makes that metallic "shink" sound when he turns it on.
The same reason that point and shoot cameras make a shutter noise - it'll have been based on a peice of tech that did once make that noise and now people expect it ;)

It'd be nice if I could play as a Geth, just sayin.
here here!

Though, in the last few seconds before it goes to the picture of shepard, there is one character running forward shooting an assault rifle as part of the PC squad that looks a lot like a Geth
In that shot; krogan, two humans and a turian.

I know, I'm disappointed too.

Hmm the Turian seems the strongest pick if it´s anything like mass effect2 campaign powers.
Warp and overload are a good combo the techarmour the best protection power.
I wonder how the adrenaline power works though, slow down one opponent?

Regarding "How did we go from a one man army to online multiplayer?" The story behind ME 3 is that the Reaper invasion has officially begun. The galaxy is officially in all-out war. No more hiding behind denial of the Reaper threat, you're fighting for your life.
I was really more talking about the fundamental shift in gameplay. Would you make an epic, 60-hour single-player RPG out of Team Fortress?
I think Bioware is just bored of RPGs now, and are looking to branch out into other genres. They're still keeping up their tradition of strong writing, so that's fair enough. I still feel a little regret though... kind of like watching your old college Dungeon Master turn into a high flying business executive. You're happy for them, and it's good that they're doing well. You just kind of wish they'd still break out the old d20 every now and then.

Makes me winder what they're going to do next. They're turning Mass Effect in an multiplayer FPS game, and KOTOR became an MMO, and they're even taking a stab at an RTS with C&C: Generals 2. Will Dragon Age become a Soul Calibur style fighting game?

I'm still not entirely clear on how a "one man against the galaxy" RPG mutates into a multiplayer online shooter over the course of two sequels, but at least now I have some idea about how it'll work.
It was never one man, it was one squad. This just takes the squad thing to its logical conclusion by letting your buddies be your squad.

Tee hee, you have the trailer that spelled sentinel wrong (@0:47).

More on topic, I'll give it a try, but I doubt that I'll play it much.

Mmmm... I suppose that ultimately all I can say to that is... FEEL THE BLOOD RAGE!!! *shoulder tackles husk/Cerberus operative/anyone else*
If the Krogan is a beast of a tank, then I'm going Krogan.

Indeed, this is most suited to my usual tactics when playing Mass Effect; two words - Massive. Fire. Or should that be Massive Effective fire?

this looks horrible. How did we go from the first game to this? Wow..I am literally amazed at how bland shittiness from Madden and COD have bled over into bioware...thanks alot EA.
Not sure if someone has quoted and told you yet but CoD is Activision not EA.

Also on topic. I actually kind of like how this looks. Seems like quite a bit of fun. Only time will tell though.

They also spelled grenade wrong, at 45 seconds in, on the power list for the drell vanguard. It's spelled gernade in the video.
