No worries, I'm not the type to take offense easily. Not that you were ever rude in any way that I can tell.

Maybe it's Magus then?

If that's not it either, could you try describing the graphics a bit more.
2D, 2.5D, 3D. Pixel, cartoon, old-ish, modern.
Top-down, static Isometric, movable Isometric, Static/locked cam.

A description of the beginnings would probably help.
And if it doesn't, you could also try reddit in r/tipofmyjoystick.

I don't mean to sound harsh, but a little more details that stand out would narrow it down remarkably I think, if you can remember.
I know how slippery memories can be.

well when the game starts you are a male protagonist in a cell you get out of the cell and their is a skeleton corpse that you get a sword from i think you get a shield from it as well from their you fight skeletons all the way out till you get to a gate where you need to get a lever to get out now getting the lever or finding it can sometimes be confusing but from their once outside you are in a plain grassy area with walls or mountains on each side with skeletons and other enemies to fight around but they are strong enough to kill the player in a couple of hits and its not that easy from their you move on towards i think a fortress but i never got their i always died before hand and well without saves from what i know you basically start from the beginning all over again. thats the best i can do but from what i know is it has melee weapons and its up to the player on the equipment they use and if i remmember corectly it had a disk to download on to the pc while thats all i can remember but it is hard and it was purely pc game an rpg rouglike hacknslash technikly i dont remember if it had magic but from this that is all i can remember because that was the begining of the game. hope that helps i have been looking for the last 5 years because i thought about it from my child hood i was about 8 or 9 at the time i had played it.

Going through the rpg games listed within wikipedia for the years 1996 to 2003, discounting tactical rpgs and jrpgs, but not wrpgs, keeping an eye out for arpgs, I found these that might fit:

Hello! I've been trying to remember this game I used to play about 10 years ago. I used to have a ds lite, and there was this game, where at the beginning of the game, it would ask a series of questions, the one question I remember was about a lake and how I would cross it. The other thing I remember about it was that it was pixelated and you would go around in dungeons fighting monsters or demons or something like that. I also believe that I played as a girl with silver hair and like, red or purple eyes. She was wearing armor like in this anime called Claymore. Aaand that's all I remember. If anyone knows what game I'm talking about, please let me know ASAP. Sorry about the crappy description, my memory sucks.
A Witch's Tale perhaps?

Hey! i have been trying to remember game from my childhood. I played it on widows xp i think. The game was maze like game where you had to dig to collect something while you avoid monsters, also with buttons 1,2,3 you could change from shovel to handgun which you could use to kill monsters, but there was limited bullets which you could collect or get as reward im not sure about how. If anyone knows what game this is would be happy to find it. Any suggestions ? thanks.

So, can't remember a game, it was some sort of action/shooter based. No close known timeframes but I used to play it on a WinXP machine around 2009 perhaps? +/- couple of years, likely older.
After a couple of clicks through the main menus (red-black themed, some pictures and an intro/cutscene I think) you show up as an armored person/soldier in some sort of a valley surrounded with another few soldiers, each having a different set of weapons I think. You could individually control each unit. The main theme color of the game overall was red, like red-orange-yellow(?) and any shades around those, it was literally all red-shaded. From the grounds and grass up to the skies as well, except soldier units, those were black and structures(?) those were more grayish.
The surroundings were kind of like steppes, low steppe-like grass, lots of tiny hills and valleys covered in grass and some larger mountains in the horizont, felt like a desert.
Moving some further you'd encounter some enemy units and some flags waving around, or was it some poles? Can't recall, but it definitely was something alike. Eventually you'd end up finding some kind of conctrete/metal structure/bridge(?) up on a huge hill and few trees around which were similar to those of GTA SA, huge&high, they were also scattered around the fields but nothing in large amounts.
This is the further I came and that's all I get to remember, guess there was some mission to be done but as a kid back then and with lack of english knowledge, it wasn't something I went after and likely the reason I can't remember what it was about, it's mostly visual memories.
Anyone got a clue what I'm talking about?
BUMP!
In case someone knows.

Someday, someone's gonna tell me he knows what I'm talking about, but until then;
BUMPing this post.

I?m trying to remember the name of an old PC game from the mid to late 90s (possibly early 2000s) that I played alongside Lego Island and Gruntz, I don?t even quite remember if it was a ?game?per se, or one of those fun educational softwares. I don?t even quite remember if it was a collection of games, or separate games entirely, but I remember one of them being some sort of an image editing thing, where you can apply different effects to a stock photo, like twisting it into a spiral. And the other ?game? I remember was some sort of music-based thing that takes place on a football or rugby field in an isometric view, and the players you place on the field would determine the notes being played afterwards.

If anyone can help me remember what this is, I would hugely appreciate it.

Kinda sounds like Spelunky. It's a game where you go through a 2D cave. Jump to avoid pits, use ropes to climb, and shoot bats/spiders and avoid traps. It's been out for a while and they have a remake of it that enhanced it with better graphics.

This is an old PC Disc game which is very similar to TRINE.

Hi guys, I'm looking for a game that I played when I was young. It was a side-scrolling CD game on PC platform in the year of 2000s may be(or 1995-2000), actually I don't know about the release date of it. Just because of the graphic design doesn't look like the quality made in 21st century.

I've tried my best to remember most of the game details but I cant remember the name of it. Yeah its totally ridiculous that I remember lots of details besides the game name.

The starting animation is talking about a man was locked in a tower in the sky, a mage(maybe?) casted magic to free him.

Although the game is side-scrolling game, it looks like 2.5D. The background is 2D picture but your character and the enemies are 3D image. It is a kind of adventure game, and you have a health bar and mana bar on the top left hand corner.

In the game you can choose 3 types of character, a young man with sword, a young girl with staff and a man using two-handed axe.
I remember some of the default button which are "Z" and "X", "Z" is using a light attack and "X" is a heavy attack.
There are several types of magic you can use, fire , ice, lightning and recovery.
Each type of magic divided into 5 levels, I only remember fire and ice.

Fire L1: Single fire ball drop on a single enemy (Auto targeting to nearby enemy)
Fire L2: Fire burning on the left side of right side (depends on character facing direction)
Fire L3: Lava blast at all enemies position
Fire L4: Large explosion (Area of effect)
Fire L5: Fire from the fire phoenix (Area of effect)
Ice L1: Ice Spikes appear at a single enemy's postion (Auto targeting to nearby enemy)
Ice L2: Ice Spikes appear at all enemies' position
Ice L3: Ice wall created on the left side of right side (depends on character facing direction)
Ice L4: Ice Storm (Area of effect)
Ice L5: Ice Age (Area of effect)

And here are the stage and the boss that I try my best to remember.
Stage 1 - Forest, boss: rock golem
Stage 2 - Floor 1 , I forgot what that thing is.
Stage 3 - Below 1, boss: ice drake
Stage 4 - Below 2, boss: 2 ghost (looks like female) share 1 BOSS health bar
Stage 5 - Below 3, boss: skeleton mage(necromancer)
**And this boss I think it is a main enemy of the game because my character need to talk to him before battle.
Stage 6 - Floor 2, boss: a flying, upper body, large skeleton with both scythe-shaded hand(hand bone)
**Actually it looks like a skeleton reaper, but it is flying and only have upper body
Stage 7 - Floor 3, boss: fire drake
Stage 8 - Below 4 , I reach to the middle only.

One more thing there are 5 different BGM in the game. Each of them is used for Stage1-5 respectively. And Stage 6 use the first BGM and so on.
I just only remember the stage name and the last stage that I reached is 8.
Please help me with this, it is a memory for me and I try my best to remember the details of it.

I have been looking for an early-to-mid 90's PC point-and-click style adventure game. It had graphic game over screens. I remember a part where a man and woman team where trying to make an antidote for an indigenous person (I believe a chief's son/daughter?) but if you failed they put your heads on spikes for the game over screen. Please help me figure out what this was.

Hello everyone!

I'm looking for marble ball game. It was at least 10 years ago. I have some accurate memory pieces but I couldn't find the games with keywords. Platform was PC.

It was a kinda 3d ball game. Very similar to RetroSphere. In the main menu you could choose among some ball textures. In the main-menu's right side there were 3 "stage". First with 12 levels, second idk, third with 4 levels this 4 were extra levels, you couldn't play with them before complete stage 1-2.

Gameplay: As I said similar to RetrpSpehere but ofc there are some differences. The most important ones: in this game you can't fall off. There is no holes on the map and you can't fall off from the side. And there weren't restart field and left or right field which pushed you to the side.
Control: basically left and right. Sometimes you have to bypass some fix barriers cause when you hit it, it almost stops you. And sometimes there are accelerator fields on the "field".
The last levels (of 1st 12) had moving barriers (not only this map, moving barriers could be found in earilier maps but I remember this very clear), which came from the ground and they(/it) moved frequently up and down even at the whole width of field (which was 6-8 unit) 1 unit = ball's width.
Oh I almost forgot. I could choose when I want to start by push arrow up. It was important beacuse the barriers moved always, so it was a tactical step to wait when barriers started to move down, therefore when I arrived to barriers they(/it) were as the same level as the ground so it didn't slow me down or stopped me.

I think that the terrain was a bole on the 6th level (1. stage). The terrain was never the same, each map had a different terrain and skybox, but it was just design.

I didn't even remember this game for a long time, but since the memories "came to the surface" thence the thought isn't resting me.

Thanks: Simon

Hello, looking the name of a kinda side scrolling shooter that I played sometime between 1995- early 2000.
It was an arcade cabinet but could have been a snes or sega etc game with joystick and buttons and had atleast 2 player option. I think the heroes used assault rifles or other guns to shoot the bad guys and collect cash and banknotes. And there was a boss which was a giant machine head that was moving and as the fight progressed it lost the skin and turned into a skull. There might have been a part where you hop in a car and drive it a bit?
Also there was a 4 player x-men cabinet and Splatterhouse 2 near if that narrows down the timeframe?
Also the camera angle was like in this random superman game: https://images.vice.com/vice/images/content-images/2015/06/22/when-video-games-about-superheroes-go-wrong-502-body-image-1434982047.png
Finally found it. The game in question was NARC :)

No, it was kinda similar to Children of Mana, at least in terms of graphics and gameplay mechanics. Again, my memory really sucks and that's all I really remember. The year would be in the range of 2005-2010 if that helps at all...

No, it was kinda similar to Children of Mana, at least in terms of graphics and gameplay mechanics. The game was also very serious, I remember being underground at one point. When you started a new game, those questions would pop up. A character would pop up at the end and you could name it and choose if it was a boy or a girl. I can't remember if you could customize their looks. Again, my memory really sucks and that's all I really remember. The year I played this game would be in the range of 2005-2008 if that helps at all...
