"Oh my my I seem to have confused you, I'm terribly sorry the master has been through the catacombs before on his own. I didn't mean to imply all of you where returning here. Shall I show you the way to the entrance of the catacombs or would you like to look around the shrine a bit longer?" He replied

wolf, not complaining, but it seriously looks like your breaking the fourth wall which is making your posts look (unintentionally I'm sure) hilarious

"Ah, very well." He pondered the type of business that William may have had here. "Perhaps, Sir Arnup, you came here before to make sure whatever it was that would jog your memory was still here. Maybe placed traps or monsters to protect it from anyone but yourself. I would expect nothing more from a king, a regal memory deserves that extra bit of protection, do you not think?"

"You wouldn't, perchance, have a memory of what it was or how to reach it, do you? In all probability you will have used several worthless decoys to ward off intruders. I would if I had been the God King's father. Although, I probably wouldn't have stepped down in the first place."

Complain all you want, I don't mind. I'm actually trying not to break the fourth wall, but he is an egotistical writer. One who is most obsessed with his fans and his books. A bit of the fourth wall needing some rebuilding is a small price to pay for accuracy of character.

I'll do as much as I can to keep him from shattering the wall though.

William shook himself mentally. In his confusion, he had let go the reins of his mind, and reacted to the monk without conscious control. He shivered slightly, wondering what else lurked in his blank past.

"Sorry, Haseo," he muttered, "I don't know what came over me."

He paused, considering the other information: his son, Karnak; the fact that he had a son at all; and the fact that he had visited recently. He searched his memory, but found nothing about the tomb.

"Sorry to you as well, Leonart," he said, "I don't know anything of this place. Though I doubt that i built it; it couldn't have been built while I was King, so I most likely had no part in it. Though it doesn't rule out my coming here, since the tomb of one's son is as good a place as any to hide the key to one's past"

"Ahh yes I forgot that nasty habit you have of forgetting things, I am Kal'nor Mara'sho'tal your faithful adviser. You may call me Kal if my full name is a bit trying on your tongue. Yes it is true you did not build this place it was somewhat constructed after your 'death' and Karnak was such a successful ruler the kingdom prospered enough to afford all these lavish adornments when he passed on." Kal explained. "I had best not say anymore or I'll end up breaking my vow to you."

Derrick laughed. It may have been out of place, but he couldn't help it.

"Leanart, if it was that easy to remember, I have a feeling this would have been done a long time ago." Derrick said, after finishing his chuckle.

"So, Kal'Nor, does your vow allow you to tell us exactly what is below this temple? Or perhaps if it is even worth our time to venture down there?"

Derrick almost couldn't help laughing again. The immortal made his advisor's swear a vow to NOT tell him everything, if anything particularly useful.

"Anyway, I say we proceed to the catacombs, unless Leanart has some other contribution you wants to point out to us?" Perhaps he was being a little bit rude towards the scholar, but his fascination with his books and such were getting somewhat irritating.

"In fact I do, Master Moorton, for I have many things to share. But none for this occasion, I ashamedly admit. When I have something to share, I will do so to keep your mind's appetite sated, do not fret."

I fear that Leonart may end up on the wrong side of Derrick before they even enter the catacombs.

"Well I'm not exactly sure what's down there, I do remember the master had something placed in his portion of the tomb what it was he wouldn't tell me it may be something of value to you though." Kal chimed in. "As for my vow I was sworn not to reveal anything of the masters past, he said to me once 'If a man has to find himself through someone else then what sort of man is he?' Now come come I will show you the way to the catacombs entrance."

Kal lead the group through the inner sanctum to a massive stone door with no handles or any obvious means of it opening. "I don't remember how exactly this opens but it can't be too hard good luck to you all." Kal walked off, going back to where ever he came from.

"Well...He led us down here to open a door, of which he does not know how to open, well, that's just perfect."

Raisavor walks up to the door and studies it closely, as if there is some sort of code. With a sigh, He said "...damn, I don't see anyway of opening it. But there has to be a puzzel of some sort around to open it with." He proclaimed, with an irritated tone. Raisavoir then looked over at Leonart. "What about you. Do you have suggestion on how to open it?"

William was torn between laughing and crying. Knowing he would loose his memory, he had for some reason instructed his servants to tell him nothing. This seemed ridiculous and exasperating, but he knew there must have been a good reason.

He looked at the door, which even the servant knew nothing of. It might have been one he designed himself, he thought, and the idea annoyed him further, though he fought it down and made himself calm and peaceful.

Raisavoir looks up a William, "You alright over there William, you seem, a little strange for some reason. But I can't put my finger on it."

William sighs, "I'm fine. It's just, there's so much that I feel I should know, but I don't. And then there's the whole thing where I've commanded not tell me my history. It's just a bit much, you know?"

Raisavoir waits about a minute before finally speaking, "Yeah...I guess I know." There is yet another long pause before he speaks again "But there is no more time to talk, we must figure out how to open this door."

"Perhaps! No... Hmm... Ahh, we could tr- Wait, no." Leonart rested his head upon his hand, idly stroking his chin with his thumb.

"Perhaps a mechanism nearby raises or lowers it?" He asked himself aloud. "Could you confirm that, Master Terrias?"

"Hm.....A door with no handle, no lock, and not much security....Sounds like a riddle to me." Derrick said.

"Actually, since this is a door probably just for an immortal, I would think it would only open for an action an immortal could do. Anything unique you possess, William? Or possibly a language or word that you know?"

Derrick hated riddles, but had run into enough of them to know they were absolutely absurd, and unique at the same time. He also dislike the saying Kal'Nor had just said. What is the worth of a man if he has no purpose?

Leanart recognizes the potential danger of Derrick quite quickly.

"Wait...yes, that might be it. A door with no handle, no lock, and very little security, what should you focus on?" Proclaims Raisavoir with a smirk."There is bound to be a certain security mechanism we have break. But where?"

Raisavoir walks around the room. Touching everything he sees, hoping to push a button or two.

Derrick quickly realizes something about the door.

Haseo laughed. "Who said we had to open it? I know a way we might be able to get past, but it is not the most scholarly of methods. But, since we're breaking into the tomb of Will, who is alive, plain as day next to me, I think it doesn't matter that much. anyway, we can always break it down if worse comes to worse, or maybe even melt it. Anyway, just a possibility. If at all possible, lets find the right way to open this door. And I will laugh if we are supposed to break it down."

"Brute force will not always get you what you desire. Sometimes it takes knowledge. But if you want to try and break it down. You are always free to try."

I think that me and Haseo wont get a long much. But lets see what happens

While Rasavoir is searching the room for any kind of switch that opens the door he checks the door itself in a form of hopeless curiosity, but when he touches it, it splits down the middle and swings open. A rather anti anticlimactic end to something befuddled them so much but nonetheless the way that leads into the catacombs, and any clues to Williams past, is now open.

I was really hoping it wouldn't have been that hard for you guys to open the door I think I may have to drop down the difficulty setting when you come across any of the real puzzles

Raisavoir's eyes widen a little,"So, all we had to do was touch the middle. I can't believe it. But we might as well just go in." Raisavoir start's to walk in, then suddenly stops. "No...I am not risking it, Ross if you can try to search for traps. I don't wanna get hit in the shoulder by a spear."

I had a feeling it was that. But I though it was to easy to suspect that was it. Next time I will just use what ever comes to mind

Derrick chuckled. Always the most absurd things to take care of the problem. Well, now for the more physical aspect of the puzzle.

"Do not worry so much Raisavoir. At least the first couple of feet should be safe enough." Derrick joked.

Peering into the darkness, Derrick felt uncomfortably beside himself. There was something wrong in the air, and it was coming from the tomb. He hoped there was something of use in this tomb.

I personally hoped it would be a little bit more entertaining and puzzling than that! But, simple progress will have to do.
