Son of a mother duck, I have WAP WiFi in my house, and all the WEP connections in my neighborhood are locked. Damn you, DS Lite!

Okay lets look at Ninetails since it was brought up in the news cast.
Drought makes it permanently sunny until another weather effect enters the battle It's already been brought up what Sunny does, so how do you use it? Simple, Ninetails supports it's entire team. 3 on 3 battles and rotations battle aren't just pokemon battles with 3 pokemon, your positioning in the battle affects who you can target and what AoE attacks target whom, rotation battles only lets you choose 1 of the 3 to attack but allows you to swap it around within turns.
So my starting line up is Ninetails with Drought, Charizard with Solar Power and Cherrim with Flower Gift.
Ninetails makes the field sunny, Charizard's Solar Power boosts it's Special Attack by 1.5x, Cherrim changes forms in Sunny Weather and Flower Gift boosts the Attack and Special Defense of the whole party under Sunny Weather by 50%.
Now I have to focus on what items my pokemon have and what position they should be in. if Ninetails is in the middle? EVERYONE can target it, that means it's in the most dangerous position, but being in the middle lets it fight back against everyone. What about Charizard in the middle? if he's in the middle then Ninetails on the left can use Earthquake a 100 Attack ground move that gets boosted by Flower Gift will hit 2 enemies while not touching Charizard. However it's not really worth Ninetails using Earthquake because it has a low base attack, however Ninetails AND Charizard both learn Heat Wave, an AoE Fire Move that's boosted not only by STAB that is Same Type Attribute Bonus (you see cause Heat Wave is a fire move and they are Fire Types, it's worth pointing out STBA because I doubt you have the braincells to realize that pokemon can learn moves that are outside their type both naturally and through breeding/TMs/Move Tutors.)
So do I return Ninetails? my Drought remains in play even if I return it, Where on the battle field do I place it? What are my 3 OTHER pokemon that work in support of this team, should Ninetails be a Status machine with Will-O-Wisp, Solar Beam, Hex and Confuse Ray? Being able to cause Burn and Confusion 100% along with Hex hitting for critical damage due to status effects and Solar Beam being a constant 120 attack fired every turn?
How about Charizard? what attacks? should I focus on his Special or Physical attacks? I have to worry about Stealth Rock coming in and fucking him up so I need a rapid spinner. And shit man how many counters? Politoed with Drizzle anyone? there's over 600 pokemon and we haven't got a defined Overused Tier yet for Gen V but I can tell you off the top of my head Gollurk and Conkledurr are going to be fucking scary to face.
And thats just Triple battles, Rotation battles! Who the fuck attacks, I got 3 Pokemon and 3 targets to choose from, I don't know if they'll switch or keep going with their 3 Pokemon in those same positions, I might end up falling into a trap or not saving a pokemon I could have.
So tell me, is 3 on 3 not innovative? if not tell me the other RPG with 3 on 3 battles where you get that much depth, where your equipped item, ability, and attacks not only influence that pokemon but also it's team members and opponents.
I'm waiting.
I'm curious as to how the online works. According to the the game, it shouldn't work since the DS seems to need a connection that either isn't secure or uses WEP. I'm using a 3DS that's connected to a WPA security, and it even states in game it shouldn't be able to work and yet a sent one pokemon to dreamland no problem. Well there was a minor problem, he wasn't falling asleep, but I solved that problem pretty quick by taking the pillow provided and suffacating it into unconciousness. That's no different than sleeping right?
I was told they are no longer in production. A friend of mine still has WEP Wi-Fi, but I really don't feel like walking all the way to his house whenever I want to use the online. Shame too, since I'm training a competitive team.Aura Guardian said:

I think i'll just stick to my old copy of Blue. I do love a bit of theorycrafting but I think i'm so far behind on Pokemon's additional mechanics that I wouldn't know where to start.
