Just replace the Scyther with a Pikachu.

I'd keep it as a pet. With no other Pokemon around there's no real way I'd be able to adventure with it. But hey, a Pikachu that can shock people would probably be pretty effective at keeping burglars away.

Regardless of which Pokemon I went home with, I'd keep it and train it as the most awesome pet and home security device EVER.

On that note, I think I'd train it up, then evolve it, and then become a crime-fighting vigilante. I would be like the Green Hornet (the charismatic leader) and my Pokemon would be like Kato (the sidekick that does all the real work).

Obviously it depends on what type of foods, etc pikachu's eat (I've only ever seen them eat pokechow, or whatever... whats that made from? Vegetarian? Meat? etc?)

But you could argue the food grown for pikachu's could replace the current biofuel crops that are starting to be grown for organic oil.

well i've seen ash's pikachu eat most things he eats, although apparently he has a taste for ketchup

While I would never give it away I do have 3 cats, but I am honestly more concerned for the cats as Pikachus are about the size of a real life house cat and can shoot electricity.

I shall let him sit on my head and we would go everywhere with eachother and we would go on magical time traveling adventures!

thats a good point.. its ridiculous the shit pokemon ash's pikachu loses to... considering it would be at least level 70 by now..

I completly agree, Ash's Pikachus should be at some insane level and be able to destroy everything in its path without much effort. Then again, this could be punishment for pikachu winning battles that should have been impossible (such as against a ground or rock type).

If I can't, then it'd know:

(I don't want Thunder because I'd want to try to use it to give me some free power, and Thunder would probably short out an entire power plant. Double Team is purely for the lulz of freaking people out with an army of electric rodents.)

Pretty much this. Also, I would probably start squealing like a little girl, hopping up and down, and rapidly clapping my hands. This would go on for about ten minutes.

Then, once I had my Pikachu, I'd train it to be a tiny, yellow killing machine and beat up people's pets for money. Life would improve dramatically.

I'll grind it a few hours a day for about one week, then just keep it as a pet. It'll be good to scare off the weirdos.And if the rest of the Pokemon become real, I'm catching a Dratini and a Charmander.

I went for the 'pokemon adventure' option, but realistically, that's a bad idea. Pikachu (what's the plural? I have a feeling it is just pikachu) just aren't very good.
Better option is to keep it as a pet, and encourage it to give me free electricity. Let it run on a treadmill attached to a battery for a little while each day.
