Too bad it's still a nightmare to code websites for. If they made that better, I would run back with arms wide open. But I'm smart enough not to click just anything on the internets.
That's the key there. If you have no idea what you're doing on the internet, sure use IE. But if you're smart and don't click suspicious links you can just use your browser of choice.Greg Tito said:With the rise of malware installed by unwitting people clicking on bad links, however, perhaps it's time to run back to Microsoft.
Sounds like a premise for another study about blocking out viruses...Woodsey said:They'd need to send me a whore-a-day to get me to start using Internet Explorer.
At least you'd know they're 99.2% free of viruses.Woodsey said:They'd need to send me a whore-a-day to get me to start using Internet Explorer.
Oi, we said we'd share! *takes back Firefox to cuddle with* <.<mParadox said:Well this is a pleasant surprise.
But I'm not leaving my Foxy. Nu uh. *cuddles Firefox* >.>
Yeah, just tweaks. Like perhaps better protection against the stuff the study was testing for. That could be a tweak. Won't know unless someone runs a non-biased study.Roboto said:To all those saying "outdated, 6 is out now" 4 is the main build, 5 and 6 are just tweaks to it.
Not even gonna mention how the escapist was handing out Trojans the other week huh? Sometimes a judgement call isn't enough, sadly. It's never a bad idea for anyone to pick an extra layer of protection. *points to avast*Greg Tito said:I know, I'm as amazed as you are. I use Chrome because of its easy features and small UI footprint and I know not to click on random links that might look suspicious, but if you have a grandmother or Auntie Sue who can't make such a judgement call, you could do a lot worse than making sure their laptop is running the most updated version of Internet Explorer.
Everyone? Have you read the rest of the thread? The way they tested doesn't seem rightxXSnowyXx said:You all laughed when I said Internet Explorer was good! WHOS LAUGHING NOW?!?!
When I get a virus while using IE9 I'll consider their point of view.dogstile said:Everyone? Have you read the rest of the thread? The way they tested doesn't seem rightxXSnowyXx said:You all laughed when I said Internet Explorer was good! WHOS LAUGHING NOW?!?!![]()
Well, a toast then (and a reason for me to drink)! Here's hoping you don't get a virus, because to be honest the better the protection the better!xXSnowyXx said:When I get a virus while using IE9 I'll consider their point of view.dogstile said:Everyone?
