As these things are by no means mandatory nor is their existence are detrimental to players who do not wish to engage in same sex marriages or marriages at all, then I figure there aren't many grounds for complaints concerning its inclusion, beyond petty, immature bouts of squick and dogma. And hey, if it does lead to a quest line which involves rescue or revenge, all the better for the narrative and immersion.
