Righty, a pit of help plz?

I'm doing the side Quest in Paradise falls that involves saving some kids, but anyway. I could have gone the diplomatic way, and taken a side quest to be let in peacefully, but getting there was a long hike in itself, so I decided to barge in. I got past the second door, but there are about 10 guys, all well armed. How do I get through this? (And there's one girl with a katana who just freakin refuses to die)
Lots of ammo and stimpaks.
Double post FTW!
I"m set on ammo, missile launcher and plasma pistol FTW, but stim packs arekinda pricey in bulk, and my bottle caps drain fast. =P

So far, it's the friggin katana girl, seriously, how the hell does anyone survive 5 plasma shot, 3 shotgun shells, and a pistol round to the face?
Maybe set it on a lower difficulty level just for Paradise Falls? You'll get less XP, but the same ammo and weapons. Reset it to whatever you want after your slaver fight.
EDIT: A nice way to earn bottlecaps for those pesky stimpaks is to collect as many Pre-War Books you can (the not-burnt ones with a green cover) and sell them for 100 caps a piece at the Arlington Library.
Gwah! I forgot about the difficulty slider! Thanks for the reminder. =D

Tell me if this is right - I was looking over the stuff that that Moira chick in Megaton was selling. She had a laser pistol for sale, but it only does the same amount of damage as my 9mm. What the hell? That couldn't be because of the condition, could it? (It was nearly busted, but that doesn't change the core damage stat that's listed, right?)

EDIT: nevermind, I just looked at a FAQ thingy and it lists totally different numbers than I thought. I'll have to look again in-game.

the answer to your question, is yes

that is exactly what CND does

that number is also effected by your skill at using the weapon

I just want to warn you guys, don't bother with the main quest to much. Without spoiling anything once you leave the Enclave base, just do something else or other quests because the ending is pretty shit.

So if want to really enjoy your experience, avoid ending for as long as possible because its a letdown.
Save. Thats now you win-win.

Yeah, thanks for telling me right after I sacrificed myself for the good of humanity. And Fawkes couldn't do it?! You gotta be kidding me. That shit is redundant.

By the way, has anyone shot Tenpenny and Mr Burke yet? I have, with a Scoped Magnum in VATS. Soooo satisfying.
I don't understand why Fawkes couldn't do it... but i guess Bethesda was to fucking lazy to do another ending. Hes gives you one lazy line saying he won't do it... fuck you Fawkes. If he went in nobody would have to die! Get your fat green ass inside!!

Somebody at Bethesda really needs a hard slap for this.
Personally I don't want to do all of the side quest with just one character type, thats why I'm not looking into every inch and corner on this first character, I just stop by when I see soemthing of interest.

Laser Pistol only does 10 damage at 100 energy weapons at 50% condition.

Seriously, how do I get shopkeeper funds to regenerate faster? Without buying stuff myself or getting them to repair my stuff.

Does Dogmeat appear at random places in the game world? I just found him outside the Brotherhood of Steel base near Rivet City, despite hearing that he's meant to be in a junkyard.

I'm quite annoyed, as it seems I missed my chance to get the alien gun, as I think I have already had the random event (a smoking object streaked across the sky in front of me, then crashed just over a ridge to my left in a rather terrifying explosion), but I didn't go to investigate what happened, as to be honest, I didn't know I was supposed to, and was busy doing a quest at the time. If only I could remember where I was, I might be able to go back, but this was 20+ gameplay hours ago.

I'm not sure, but I do know that this was a big issue in the original Fallout, so perhaps it's designed that way to stop the player from becoming too rich. I remember that having 10,000 caps in the original Fallout was difficult to achieve - in Fallout 2, my character probably had a net worth of at least 100,000.
I had 30k+ Caps in fallout 1. And that was only after getting the water chip.

I'd love to know how people survive with a crippled head. Crippled head = crippled brain, amirite?

Also, first post.

Edit: I'd also like to know how people manage to pick up and use their miniguns even after both of their arms have been crippled. How peculiar.

ANOTHER EDIT: To the people complaining about shopkeeper funds, just buy stimpacks or bullets from them if you're selling items and they run out of caps. Meds and ammo weigh nothing and retain their value reasonably well, so you can sell them on later.

Please awnser this! Can someone tell me of Fallout followers that like folks with high karma?
´Cause every potential follower I find calls me a "goody two shoes" and wont come. I already have dogmeat, but I need someone else.
Follow the main quest some and get into the citadel. There lies a paladin buddy. Dogmeat. You can buy charon for 2000 caps from the bar in underworld. And perhaps pick up a super mutant companion.
Where is underworld, exactly? I know its in DC, but where?

Nah - I didn't realise for a few hours until reading the post here - just...

Head straight north from the minefield and look for a burning building west of a bridge
