Meat is a chemical requirement for the human system. There is no alternative. To have a healthy diet, you must eat meat.
no it's not, my mom can't eat meat. if she eats it it makes her physically ill, so she only eats vegetables and a tone of pasta

Humans need nutrients like protein, fat, calcium etc. These are easily attained from alternative sources or pills.
This I find stupid. Why go on a diet that doesn't make you healthier, thinner or does ANYTHING except forcing you to take pills? Face it, a lot of vitamins also come from eating meat. Same goes for fats.

Being a vegetarian is dumb. We have teeth to eat both vegetables and meat, we also don't have the enzymes to process grass like cows or sheep do it.

I used to be a vege from age 7-19. It's only really chicken that I eat. I still really dislike pig especially bacon (why do people love it so much?).

I'd say start off with the replacement products (vege sausages, pies, etc) along with getting some simple receipe books on the matter. There are tones of them out there. Remember to have lots of carbs to keep your energy levels high. Rice meals are a good start.

I find it hypocritical by vegetarians to eat fish! I mean, you're saying you're not eating meat, then you do eat meat, then you don't... don't give me that red meat/white meat thing, meat is meat, whether it's red or white D8<

If I turned vegetarian, my list of food I can make myself eat would go down to a "Soon to die" level, so no way anyone's gonna make me go there xD (Yeah, I'm picky, I don't touch "cultural/exotic food"... I'd go to a McD' or Burger King over some true and real Chinese restaurant anyday.. or go somewhere and eat slices of bread or a chicken...)

A vegetarian who just wants to feel a little better by being one, or does it because they're maybe allergic, or some such, I don't mind, kudos to you.
But once they start jabbering about "Animals have faces, bwaaa!" I will respond with "Plants are living things too!" then mention I'd support Soylent Green if THEY were in it.. But, you know what they say, you become what you eat, I don't want to become one of -those- particular vegetarians...

PS: Or a vegetable, for that matter.

I don't see why that video would put you off chicken, or all meat in general. Yeah, shit happens, animals get sick just like we do. If you watched a video of a human getting a cyst taken out, would you not have one taken out of you, or stay away from hospitals? I hope not.

I guess the only helpful thing I can suggest is get a credit card for your local supplement shop, you're going to need it. It can be an extremely expensive way to live. People will suggest the Morning Star products, but those cost a pretty penny. Stock up on your vitamins in bulk, maybe it'll save you some dough.

I love meat, and that video was actually kinda cool. At least there are people who do that job, rather than just have them send us all the crappy meat. But, if you need help, I would recommend eating beans for protein and plenty of fruits. I heard tofu actually starts to taste like meat after a while, but I find that hard to believe.

EDIT: You might also need to take nutrient pills, but I'm sure there are ways around that.

False, you can take supplements. And this from a dedicated meat eater.
Tasty, tasty supplements.

Just go cold turkey (no pun intended). Cut meat right out from day 1. Replace with veg. Veg lasagne, veg pie, veg stir fry. Occasionally eat some soy based 'pretend' meat so you don't get bored of veg all the time. Lots of indian and chinese dishes make good veggie meals too.

Thats what I do and I'll have been vegetarian for a year in... 3 weeks time :)

Good luck!

I have been a vegetarian for a few years now. I went cold turkey and never looked back.
My body really doesn't seem to think of meat as food anymore, as in a guy eating a burger next to me won't make me hungry.

I can't really remember what meat tastes like anymore.

The only thing that I ever want is fish. I was a huge fish eater before I gave up on meat and I still want it from time to time.

Good luck to you.

Try and find some good veggie recepies, there are a lot of them around.

Oh, and never try to find an alternative to meat (e.g. fake meat). They pretty much always suck and make you miss the real thing.
I'd suggest this. And as for the second part, it seems pretty true for every veggie I've met. It depends I guess, whether you're a veggie from birth or it's a decision you've made based on X thought or event. If you've tasted real meat before, nothing will EVER replace that taste or satisfaction, but Quorn desperately tries hard to mimic it and Quorn bacon isn't that bad.

The video didn't disgust me enough, as I have had pretty bad ingrown toenails and cystic acne.

Unless that's an offer to pluck and roast you, too much information.
