But to play Dracula he'd need to pit his acting chops against Gary Oldman, Christopher Lee and Leslie Nielson... is that really wise?
He is a good actor, and I bet he can pull it off, as long as he trys.
Calumon: Twinkle Twinkle little Vampire.
See, I agree with both of you, Jack and Cal'. Thing is, Robert Pattinson has been in several other things where he's been a great and talented actor (from Cedric Diggory to a great role recently alongside Emilie de Ravin in
Remember Me), and he is definitely a good actor. He openly admitted he just wasn't bothered about Twilight because he wasn't really interested in the series itself, which is brave coming from an actor whose paycheck rests on the series being successful, but at the same time, I can see why he took on the role anyway - what actor is going to turn their nose up at the sort of money they'd get for being in Twilight? And anyone who claims they'd refuse because it'd be 'selling out' is a complete and utter liar, and that goes for music and everything else too - at the end of the day, it's all an industry, and it's all a job to them. A paying job. With lots of money on the line.
As for the topic itself, I wouldn't be surprised if this is indeed true. There are plenty of 'common' people around who can be traced as being related to the current British Royal Family, thanks to it's size and the old habit of English nobles keeping marriages with each other for money, power or land. And for the same reasons, for hundreds of years all the noble families and royal families in Europe stuck to marrying each other. It doesn't take much of a leap to figure out that more than a few people in the UK will be related to both our current Royal Family and Vlad Dracul III. So although it isn't especially interesting, more a slightly odd coincidence, odds are R-Patz is indeed related to old Vlad.
TL;DR: Basically, according to probability theory and the mathematics of genealogy regarding numbers of descendants, the chances are this is entirely true. It just isn't that interesting since there are also bound to be plenty more people in the same boat, though most likely none of them have ever played vampires in anything...
