The "Twilight" wave lives on, corrupting all fantasy genres with emo teenage models.

I'm going to get ahead on this one to the next genre, and write a script in which Duke Skytalker, the long lost son of supermodel-turned-Idol-Judge Jarth Nader comes to terms with his own exterior perfection through a 30 minutes audition with Stylist Ren Benobi and learning the force of anti-wrinkle cream filled to the brim with "midi-clorians", the latest marketing gimmick of Galatic Beauty Empire Inc. whose cone-shaped headquarters he must take down so they do not lure more money out of the ugly hairy-bummed Esok people.

It will sell!

The only way a story about models could be remotely interesting to read, is if it was satire, and wrote by Rankin or Pratchett!

This seems like on of those ideas that are so crazy that they just might work.

Mind you. During the 1990s there was this little girls want to be princesses thing. Probably Disney had something to do with it. Nowadays when 12-years-old are reading Cosmopolitan this Modelland thing seems just a logical continuum.

I need to break into some form of journalism soon so I can interview her and repeatedly call her alleged book "moe-DELL-and." I wonder how long the chain of people is who had to hear this idea and approve of it. And whether they are seeking the professional help they need.

"As you might know, I step into a bookstore and I shake (really!) because I love books so much," she wrote in the announcement. "Ever since I was a kid, I couldn't wait to pick up a new book and see what worlds the writers had created for me. I especially loved books with strong girls and women -- you know, girls with guts, smarts and attitude -- and then one day it came to me . . . MODELLAND!"

biggest. oxymoron. ever.

*Reads thread title, facepalms then facepalms one more time*
Seriously, why?
Who the hell would read a novel based on models?
THIS is the perfect example of celebrities getting too much freedom, we must lock up all celebrities.

I don't see what the fuss is about, when this hits the shelves and children suddenly become more anorexic, self loathing, shallow little creatures they will blame the books and modelling for screwing up children rather than games, sex and Rock and Roll.

On a more serious note: She worries me.

ARGH! You got me surfing that god forsaken place for 15 minutes before I remembered what I was doing before I went there...that website is pure gold I tell you.

Tyra will fail, and millions of stupid personality-deprived sheep will buy and read it and pronounce it the story of their lives...just like another crappy book released recently.

I can see it now . . .brentford is transposed into a mystical land of wonder when tyra banks obtains permission from Hugo Rune (Prime Minister, best dressed man of 1927 and Magus extrodinare) and a holy writ from the pope. it is up to john omally and jim pooley to track down a parralel dimension version of elvis and barry the time sprout so they can find the mcguffin and do something that brings the book to a conclusion in a dance spectacular.

this could actually be the plot of Rankin's next book, eh? perhaps its not far fetched enough for far fetched fiction though. good to see another fan of his books here.

Who is this chick? Never heard of her and now she wants to be the next Tolkien? First time I heard her thought she was a pornstar or something...

Why do we enjoy watching crazy people (oh wait they're rich, I meant eccentric) so much? Half of the really famous actors/actresses and TV-show hosts are batshit insane.
