Well, after last week i'm slightly brain-dead, but i got a pretty decent 114 of this little test. Although i don't take much faith in them.

Meh,

I threw the test in public school and am identified as "retarded" (that was in the 80's). Course I do have two degrees or so, so my lack of brains hasn't hurt me overmuch.

I just took two different tests online and got a 104 (I know i know bad) on the first one and a 129 (better!) on the second one.

I think 129 is slightly above average which would make sense considering my 27 ACT was slightly above average.
Actually... 104 is slightly above average, 129 is a step below genius.
Well now I know that second one I took (129) had to be inadequate, because I've always been a bit smarter than average but I'm definitely not a genius.

2 years ago I checked it out in 3 completely different IQ test. All of them ended up with result '127', so that sounds pretty reliable. Dunno about my current one.

this type of test asks you primarily math questions and since i am awful with math
i got 108

i have more street smarts than academic smarts.

Online IQ tests aren't accurate for a number of reasons, chief of all being that IQ tests are supposed to be timed.

I took a real IQ test during my senior year and I got a 141. Respectable score, nothing spectacular though.

The only thing IQ tests actually test is your ability to do IQ tests. However, I took a professional one recently and got 162, but I still don't agree with them.
This, exactly.

Intelligence is far too diverse and dynamic to condense down into one number.

You know there is a reason you are not supposed to be told your IQ when you take the test as a kid.
Because the intire IQ test is a sorting system for schools
not even joking

I got a 98, can't say I'm surprised though, barely made it out of high school.
But as it's been said, aren't these IQ test's pretty inaccurate?

I've never taken one, and I never will. IQ is basically your knowledge on a wide range of subjects. You could be the smartest human being to walk the earth when it comes to Biology, but the second someone asks you a physics question you're a veritable retard.

I love the way most replies on this thread follow this pattern:

"IQ test are a load of bull. But anyway, my IQ is like, totally above average."

Took the test provided by OP. 125 Above Average. Which seems about right, but these tests are never 100% accurate or anything. It's just to get an estimation.

I'm not too bothered about IQ tests, they generally just gauge your ability to remember stuff from school, anyway.

I did an official MENSA test about 5 years ago, got 139, 1 point less than the minimum to be accepted (Its for the top 2% of the world's smartest people).
Try the indication test on their website if you really think you are that smart.
All the other tests are bollocks.
Actually all tests are bollocks so forget about it.

Such tests are simply an indication for that specific place, time and state of mind when you did it.
It doesn't guarantee that you always are able to access your optimal knowledge capacity.
So real intelligence isn't measured by something standardized, but how you manage to use it when its actually needed. So good for you if you can stuff a bunch of facts into your gray matter, i'd like to see how you'll cope in real life when you feel the pressure and are influenced by various other external factors like: other people, company policy, improvisation, specific demands made by a client and what not.

I was 99th percentile just before I dropped out of high school, and I haven't bothered to do anything resembling testing it since. I'd have to assume that some decay has occurred, but I couldn't be bothered to care if I'm still up in the high end of the IQ scale, since I'd much prefer to play dumb. Nothing is more satisfying than surprising the fuck out of some condescending prick, right when it will embarrass them the most.

Then there's the fact that the guy that is presumed to be (at a minimum) the smartest guy in North America worked was working as a bouncer in Long Island in 1999... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_Langan
