Eh... Dad can't see the appeal, doesn't mind me playing them though. TF2 and Left4Dead are my games of choice at the moment, so mostly the conversation when he occasionally (seemingly purposelessly and at random) wanders in goes "Hi, killing people again?" ... "yup, busy" ... *he wanders back out again*

There's also a somewhat annoying repeating problem where the time at which I think "OK, game time" and the time at which food is ready, just so happen to overlap.

While playing the Ravenholm chapter of HL2:

Mom: "I don't think you should be playing such a violent video game."
Me: "Mom, I'm 22 years old."

She also took away Goldeneye and hid it from me when I was a teenager. I found it a few days later.

My Mom doesn't really understand video games, but she's not against them or anything, she just lets us do as we please when it comes to games.

Whereas my Dad is very against them, and hypocritical in a sense considering he watches TV and sits on his computer doing nothing for good portions of the day.

One thing that always bugs me is that both of my parents have this nasty habit of walking in at the most violent parts of games. It's like they have a sixth sense for it.

My Dad refuses to believe there is more to Bioshock than Dr. Steinman shouting 'HIDEOUS!'
Also,t's very embarrassing to be caught playing some brainless shooter. Is that a good thing?

My dad doesn't like modern games: thinks they're too complicated. He prefers the simple stuff like Doom. My mom, well the only thing she liked was Super Mario Bros.

When my dad saw me playing MGS4, he said that those were brilliant graphics. (He has a good eye, my dad)

When he saw Battlefield: Bad company he said that looked alot like Battlefield: 2142, and instantly knew they were the same.

My dad is Gaming guru guy!

no matter what game I'm playing, my mom goes "all you ever do is run around"..

Sigh...
Which game doesnot make you run around ?

every game requires movement

even the first ever game was made entirely out of movement (PONG)

My folks never got into video games and really never paid much attention to the ones I was playing. Though I do remember my dad getting a chuckle about some of the lines in Monkey Island 3. But really, you would have to be devoid of any sense of humor in order to NOT find that game funny. Really all it proves is my dad is human. As for my mom, I once had a thirty minute conversation with her trying to explain what WoW was. And even after explaining it all, she was like "I don't understand"
One time i my Grandma decided to sit next to me while i was playing Warhawk
so asked me whats going on

i ended having to explain not only everything about the game, not only everything about online play, not only how a headset works, not only gaming physcollogy
but also what a grenade was

i literrley spent a full hour explaing her everything about online gaming and why there are people with headsets and the purpose of the game

she then replied
"What rubbish thats no sense"

My mom really liked Braid and Garry's Mod. My didn't like COD4 though.

My parent's generally don't like it when I play games, mainly because I'm supposed to be doing my homework instead.

My Mom HATES horror games. Unluckily for her I love them. Dead Space/Resi5. She criticised me for buying the games and whenever she sees me playing them she just can't understand that I find them both very fun.

I think playing 'House of the Dead: Overkill' in front of my mother wasn't a good idea, but after her initial shock of the game violence, she joined in and gave it a go.

...My mom thought D&D was evil. She bought me NWN.

That should be pretty telling right there as far as how much she comprehends these things.

(Dad's a tech geek, but he doesn't really care. He at least vaguely comprehends if I mention anything in games.)

World of Warcraft: Why does Shuppzy never come downstairs? (Shuppzy is my nickname, I made it myself when I wad two or three)

Wii games: "Hey Can I play Wii Sports?" Usually while I'm busy playing DBZ BT2

Resistance: Are you shooting Russian alien mutanta again?

Street Fighter IV: Street fighter alpha goof (Alpha 2, I used to own it and think the man said Alpha goof)

Spartan Total Warrior: Abu Fashqa, forgot the literal translation but I think it has something to do wih "The bloke who runs all day"

GTA Vice City: My mum's personal 80's radio...
