I use sugar as a shorthand for anything that causes your blood sugar to spike like say bread (refined grains) as it's higher on the glycemic index than table sugar as your body very quickly turns that into sugars. I've stated that several times where why bread is bad for you but an orange is fine even though the orange has more actual grams of sugar in it.Is it the only thing that does that? Could, say, a chain of sugars-- a carbohydrate-- also do that? Could consuming fats or proteins in sufficient quantities also do it? These are the kinds of details Silvanus wants you to provide, I think.
