they should have included an offline multiplayer feature like in san andreas.
then they would have been fine.

Note to game producers: Including multiplayer saves lives

I feel so terrible for the son in all this.
Amen. Poor kid. I can't imagine walking into my parent's room and seeing my dad standing over a shredded pile of meat that USED to be my mom. That thought evokes a statement that I would likely get banned for.

Lucky me, I never liked GTA.
Totally agreed. The kid heard the whole thing and he's only 10. I can't even imagine what he and his siblings are going through right now.

Stupid people will think it's about GTA, while the editor was stupid enough not to remember his writing lessons and leave irrelevant subjects out.

Too bad this'll somehow become twisted in the media so it seems like he was the violent 'addict' who decided to 'emulate' his favorite game and stab his wife.
Yeah just like the "Manhunt"-inspired killing in Britain where it turned out the murderer never played the game, and it was in fact the victim who had. So the victim's mother blaming the game was made even more hilarious and hypocritical.

Hmmm, sounds like some reporter trying to get his name out there by using the well known "Grand Theft Auto" name to generate traffic.

I fail to see how The Playstation and GTA really figure into this. Okay she was playing a video game for half a dozen hours a day, and she moved a TV into the bedroom. My bloody parents have a TV in their bedroom and earphones if one of them want to watch it while the other one sleeps. I fail to see how this forced him onto the couch.

I am also thinking their relationship must have been rocky to begin with for a video game to put stress on it, and the whole "affair" thing seems to be the crux of the situation. I'd think if they guy is rambling about her spending too much time on the Playstation that says more for his mental stability than anything.

But whatever, the article has been written, and by discussing it we're giving the author exactly what he wanted.
You have a good point, the addiction to GTA was obviously a catalyst.
He obviously didnt trust his wife, she has created an awkward situation if he has to sleep in another room to her.

Murder was obviously the result of prolonged domestic stress, which was probably influenced, not caused by gaming addiction. But we will still see GTA being factored in as a stressor by the media.

The game was a catalyst for this, me thinks
though other things that the media likes to not mention are certainly to blame
(such as an affair).
i certainly wouldn't enjoy it if my wife were to push me out of the bedroom
so she could play games all night while i sleep on the couch.
It's straining a relationship that should have more time devoted to it.
not the game's fault really,
but the relationship already had red flags plastered all over it
and the affair was the last push over the edge

meh... Is this the 'News' section, or the 'Retarded Tabloid' section?

Really now, another "OMFG TEH GAMEZ R KILLZORZ!11!!COSINE0!!11ELEVENTEEN!"

This is getting tiresome. After all this time, they think people still care? I mean, not all of the world's population is retarded, especially not the Escapians here. The guy killed his wife because he is a jealous douchebag, not because of GTA.

I bet Jack "IMDALAWBICHEZ" Thompson is having a wet dream come true right now...

Odd how neither the BBC nor Sky News mention an affair at all, or that it was a PS3 tbh... Makes me wonder about the affair bit tho.

Very sad still though :(

But he stabbed her because of the affair. Not the game, silly.
I'm not really sure whether the article proves solid evidence she was having a affair

if it does could someone please point it out ?

Well, if this was in Britain he will surely be getting a nice job as a primary school teacher sometime next year.

We need to come down harder on crime.

Was it GTA that caused the problem or was it the fact that he thought she was cheating on him and that she was leaving him? I think more the latter.
