Nothing's wrong with me, that's just how it is. He sounds like someone being beat to death with a bag full of cats. His lyrics are just HORRIBLE. You would know what I'm talking about.wc alligator said:

Also, side note, the reason that Nickelback gets picked on so much isn't that they're just generic, it's that they made that sort of radio-friendly mediocrity commonplace, at least for a few years. If you want to get technical, though, you could trace that all the way back to Pearl Jam. At least the vocal style, which seems to have influenced Creed, which were the archetype for what Nickelback is still doing now.
i liked Linkin Park until their 2nd album, after that its like n*sync meets avenged sevenfold.

as for some "honorable" mentiones; James LaBrie (singer from Dream theatre, listen to him live and die), Tom Waits (this is just for his song "Down in the hole"), Metallica after 1998, to name a few...
I love old metallica and i refuse to buy anything post black album/pre Death Magnetic. I dont care about the music videos i was just adding that in. Death Magnetic is much better than St.Anger and such (I have listened to songs on that album) Metallica has gone away from poppy music and back tword the direction of Metal, im not saying the album is great, im saying they are getting better again, and thats my opinion.sabercrusader said:

They've got a "generic" sound, sure, but they're good at what they do. They've got a handful of good stuff (Everybody likes "Hero"...), and they're certainly not one of the worst bands ever.
I've never liked System of a Down (They've got an awful "Singer", and their stuff is really ragged and annoying), but other than that, I tend to stay away from bad bands.
They've got a "generic" sound, sure, but they're good at what they do. They've got a handful of good stuff (Everybody likes "Hero"...), and they're certainly not one of the worst bands ever.

I'll give that one to you, although it wasn't "wannabe heavy metal" because that album is NOT heavy. Indeed they should have stuck with old school stuff; it's a good thing they got their act together for Death Magnetic.RanD00M said:
