Yahtzee occasionally reviews mummorpuggers, but I don't think he's ever liked one. Nevertheless, it's still entertaining to see how he'll re-interpret the acronym "MMORPG."
Alright man...Hopperdopper said:Are we talking about the same game here?
He didn't even mention the graveyard servers IN PEAK HOURS, FPS issues, brainless rude ToRons, 300 mil dollar project that coughed up this mess of a game and promising an experience in the words of, "unlike other mmorpgs, you DON'T grind or fight a big monster with lots of people in ToR, because that isn't very heroic".
Indeed you can. But I got a huge kick out of yahtzee's complaint here. For gunslingers, that has to be the worst possible ability your companion could have, and it's turned on by default. My understanding of the system is that cover is directional, so Corso not only pulls a guy close, but if he's standing behind you when combat starts, he negates your cover for one enemy. Really boneheaded move on the designers' part.Raithnor said:I know Yahtzee doesn't read these forums but you can turn Corso's Grapple ability off by expanding the companion bar and right-clicking the ability so the green light is off.
Never seen Zoolander, huh? They made that joke back in 2001.Scarim Coral said:Oh man how did no one make a joke about "Han Solo" until Yatzee did? (Unless they already did and I didn't see/ hear it until now).
I wonder if his opinion would changed if he had a longer time to play it?
Kaliyo has the same ability for the Agent. It's more useful for Operatives because she brings the ranged guys to you who'd you normally have to chase down. Since you have the stealth field generator, you have time to setup your combo in advance and your companion is right next to you.Labcoat Samurai said:EDIT: You know, I bet it'd be bad for scoundrels too. For example, if you're trying to set up a close range combo and Corso pulls the guy away. It's like the one companion for sith warriors who has a knockback ability, always knocking guys out of melee range right as you're getting your lightsaber combo going. At least by the time you get that guy, you have the ability to lightsaber throw, and you can often jump to the guy.
Actually I have (got it on DVD) although it has been years since I last watched it (man I need to watch it again sometime soon).mjc0961 said:Never seen Zoolander, huh? Still a great joke though.
Woooooooow. Really hope that's not true, because that's just BAD.RaikuFA said:http://i.imgur.com/j2CQY.jpgZachary Amaranth said:Say what? Never heard this one. Saw this and turned me away from this game, but I still feel its BS.
Roll a Bounty Hunter, choose Mercenary, then wear the customizable Sith Warrior robes. Or Roll a Smuggler, choose Gunslinger, then wear the customizable Jedi Sentinel armor.ZippyDSMlee said:I am waiting on them to allow Jedi to dual wield pistols.

This. All of it. The Imperial Agent is by far the best story I've seen in the game so far. The Smuggler story is just so damn disappointing, and if I had started with Smuggler instead of Imperial Agent I probably would've quit the game weeks ago.EmperorSubcutaneous said:Oh, you played a Smuggler...I'm so sorry. I found it to be one of the worst stories in the game.
Imperial Agent (the Empire equivalent of Smuggler) being the best, of course. While the Smuggler story felt phoned in and padded, the Imperial Agent story progressed in such a logical and compelling way that I didn't feel like I was just being dragged to the next planet along with everyone else.
Plus, it actually feels like a fun and unique addition to the Star Wars universe. You get to see the Empire in a different light than you usually do, the morality is more interesting, and it doesn't revolve around the Jedi and Sith (who have both gotten very boring). Plus you get to be Space James Bond, so that's cool too. (It also has the best cast of companion characters by far, not counting the first one you get. She's horrible. But her unrelenting bitchiness does get kind of funny.)
Of course what happens after you reach 50 is a different story. I'm pretty much just sitting around waiting for expansions now. But I will play them; I just love the characters that much.
......If you choose a ranged class you never touch a lightsaber, if you choose a jedi class you never touch a pistol.DVS BSTrD said:So apparently even if you chose ranged combat you still end-up spending a good chuck of the game fiddling with your lightsaber.
